Funky: Here's the truth: pigs prefer to keep themselves clean. The problem is that pigs can't sweat very much. Sweating helps you keep an even temperature. As sweat evaporates, it absorbs heat away from your body. Because hogs have very few sweat glands, they have to find other ways to keep cool. Pigs would much rather lounge in a clean pool of water, but that usually isn't an option. So, pigs lie in mud. The mud absorbs their bodies' excess heat I hope this helps!!!
Pete aka Funky: Greetings from England!! I am a farmer myself - was browsing and found your site. Stop by and visit Funky and Friends.
Blossom: I really enjoy the wisdom of your entries. Mind if I add you to my friends list? You are a daily "must read".
Louis: Somebody stole all my tags, so I thought I'd visit again.
Diddleysquat: Well, it's thursday!
Diddleysquat: I asked because I was sitting here thinking I am sweating like a pig and then it occurred to me that was an assumption on my part. I'd no idea if pigs sweat. Just thought you might know!
dennis: I'm not sure if pigs sweat. But I know they smell terrible. We don't have pigs but the Amish guy across the street does and that's as close to pigs as I want to get

truth

Letting truth lead you is an interesting concept.  I've been doing it for years and it has always lead me to a better place even if sometimes it seemed like the truth would destroy my existing world.  But that's the point it does destroy your existing world but it replaces it with something better.

After giving it some thought I have concluded that "truth" is an arrogant concept. One man's truth is another man's lie. Is truth merely a figment of our perceptions. Five people experiencing one thing all have their own version of the truth of the experience. Which is most true? Is my opinion truth? Most assuredly - not! Is what I know to be true, really true? Only unitl the next study is released and I find out it is not. The more I think about it the more I am beginning to believe that "truth" is something dreamed up by politicians for use in their campaigns.

Hi Diddley,
I think some truths are able to override other truths. Like it is true an airplane should fall to the ground by the force of gravity. But it is also true that it flys through the air because other true conditions override gravity. All political laws are backed by the threat of violence and many people believe violence is the strongest force. However there is a truth which I believe can override unjust laws and that truth is, no healthy mind can be imprisoned by the material plane. I put this idea to the test and found it to be true.
I agree that dealing with people is a scary thing. I figure you are not very scared of dealing with people because you are so good at it. I figure your the person who materializes ideas for people who sit behind desks by dealing directly with the people who need to be dealt with. I bet the scary part is whether your doing more harm than good. Hope you don't mind my looking into your mind. I just like to throw ideas around.

I just spent a 20 minutes typing up a response and now it is gone!!!! Grrrr! My firewall had locked the internet. I hit send and kaput, nothing!

I'll try and remember what I said and type it again.

Here goes...

Yank my chain? 'Holey'immaculate conception cattleman you have tied it in knots. Firstly, gravity and I are not on speaking terms. That other truth that supposedly overrides it is not in evidence in my life. Things that shouldn't be dragging - are. Nextly, I think 'unhealthy' minds are equally apt to forgo imprisonment by the material plane. Most of those that I have known are very far out there!

As much as I agree with your assessment that healthy minds are not imprisoned by the material plane, I think it only applies to a few. If I squirrel away a little deeper at that thought then I have to conclude that there is great adversity in the material plane that many cannot rise above. I do not know what differentiates between those who can and those who cannot. Is it faith? Fortitude? Do you know?

You are correct in your assessment that the idea of doing harm or good is the frightening part of working with people. But like all things in my life, I jump in with both feet and strive for my best. I would not forgive myself were I to do otherwise. Having said that, I should also tell you that I have withdrawn myself from many involvements over the previous three years. Ironically, my very love of humanity was threatening my own personal humanity. I have much compassion for people but was always outraged by the things that should very well outrage. Eventually, I found myself in a position of minimizing atrocious acts because they weren't quite as atrocious as others. I did risk management for some nasty characters and used to go home and vomit after a meeting. When I quit being sick to my stomach and found myself starting to think, "oh well that wasn't so bad, torture wasn't involved," I knew it was time to bail. I w

Guess there is a limit to how much one can type!

I was both the person in front of the desk and the person behind it depending on the time of day. For now, I've happily thrown the desk away!

Have a great evening Dennis! Thanks for the comments and the discussion!
